An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Strategy to help you through the tough feelings

I did this video a year or so ago when we were still coming off the tail end of covid and where there continued to be alot of upheaval, pain and confusion in our world. I thought it still appropriate today and wanted to post here as a blog because the strategy of Notice, Name, Neutralize from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Russ Harris) is a strategy that I turn to often when going through any tough feeeling.

Acknowledge your feelings/Notice them, name them and speak them

Remember you’re not alone/ Reach out and Connect

Take care of yourself/Breathe, get outside, exercise/Flush out the stress

Have a Media Plan/You can like to stay informed, but know when you’ve had too much

Remember your values:

How do you want to show up today, in this dialogue and in your life?

How do you want to show up in others’ lives right now?

Find a way to be intentional during this time and remind yourself of those values.
